The Spiegelberg External Ventricular Drainage (EVD) Bag is a single use, 700 ml capacity bag. It can be used for up to 30 days, but should not be used beyond that time. The bag is used to collect cerebrospinal fluid during procedures where external ventricular, lumbar, or subdural drainage is necessary. This EVD bag is intended for use in situations where accurate measurement of drained fluid or exact leveling is not a requirement. The bag is connected to the drainage catheter with a Luer-Lock connector, an access port allows sterile withdrawal of the cerebrospinal fluid, and a stopcock is provided that can be closed to allow patient transport. A nylon string allows the bag to be hung from a hook or IV stand.
