The Hettich EBA 270 was developed specifically for use in medical practices. Among the features of this small centrifuge is a convenient swing-out rotor capability. The EBA 270, despite its small size, delivers results comparable to those provided by much larger centrifuges. It is well suited for the centrifugation of sample tubes which contain a separating gel, but can also be used for blood collection and urine tubes. It can handle a volume of up to 15 ml in these tubes at a maximum rotating speed of 4,000 rpm. The purpose of the swing-out rotor is when gel tubes are used the sedimentation collects in the direction of the tube axis. The result is uniformly thick layers of of the tube contents, making further analytical procedures much easier. The EPA 270 weighs 13 kg and is air cooled.
