The Vacuklav 41-B is a stand alone unit, making it an idea choice for use in locations where there an external water supply is not available. The unit can however be connected to a water supply and/or drain by means of an adapter that is available as an option. The Vacuklav 41-B is in conformance with European Standard EN 13060 for class B autoclaves. The deep vacuum in the 29 liter chamber is created by an electrical vacuum pump, while the unit's deep post vacuum operation ensures wrapped materials , wrapped textiles, and other porous materials will be completely dried. The Vacuklav is capable of completely sterilizing and drying 5 kg of wrapped medical instruments in approximately 25 minutes. Lesser quantities can often be sterilized and dried within a 10 minute period. Internal pressure and temperature is regulated by sensors in combination with the unit's microprocessor unit.
