Duralux Platinum Switchable Glass Vision Panels The Duralux platinum represents a significant improvement in patient observation. The range of panels uses the same high grade components as the standard Duralux panel but instead of a striped moving centre pane it incorporates an Lumex glass panel. This is an electronically operated (55v) glass panel that is totally opaque and goes clear in less than 0.1 seconds when the staff key or patient turn is operated. The benefits are huge: 100% field of vision for staff and patients for better safety Totally opaque when off ensuring better levels of security Silent in operation for minimal disturbance Glazing spec 10mm toughened glass is used to both faces of the Duralux platinum panel with the Lumex glass panel in the centre separated by intumescent graphite strips. The Lumex glass panel is made from 2 layers of 6mm toughened glass either side of the PDLC (Particle Dispersed Liquid Crystal) film layer. This is the standard specification for the 40mm panel which is suitable for 44mm doors. For 54mm doors the spacing width can either be increased or 19mm Pyrosec toughened fire glass can be used instead of one of the 10mm toughened glass panels. Electrical supply Supply to the Duralux platinum panel is 55v via a concealed door loop or head contact from a panel transformer which can be situated either above the ceiling or flush fitted in to the wall. The control for the unit is a two way switch arrangement concealed in the fascia which incorporates a staff key switch and a stainless steel patient push switch. These are high grade components which have been selected for outstanding durability and performance.
