The 42nd International Symposium on Intensive Care & Emergency Medicine (ISICEM) begins today at the Brussels Congress Center in Brussels. The symposium will run through March 21-24.

The International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine is an annual meeting organized by Erasme University Hospital, Université Libre de Bruxelles, and the Belgian Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SIZ). It is held in March and has been taking place since 1980. The meeting has grown in popularity and is now attended by over 6200 participants from all over the world. It is considered to be one of the largest events in the field of intensive care and emergency medicine.

The four-day International Symposium on Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine aims to update participants on the latest research, therapy, and management developments in critical care and emergency medicine. The meeting is open to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals interested in the field.

It is expected to be a very exciting congress with new clinical findings, guidelines and recommendations, controversial discussions, the importance of a personalised approach and an overall practical focus on intensive care.
