The product is used in the drainage of the pleural fluid. The standard percutaneous entry or Seldinger technique is used in the chest tube placement. The chest tube inserter helps in the smooth transition so that the insertion over the wire guide becomes easier. The EchoTip® echogenic needle is included in the sets and trays and at the chest tube's distal end, the side ports are located. The Thal-Quick chest tube, Amplatz Extra-Stiff Wire Guide with Safe-T-J® Tip, a disposable thumb scalpel are included in the product sets. The trays comprise of a 25 gage needle, a 22 gage needle, lidocaine, the Chloraprep® One-Step antiseptic, a fenestrated drape, gauze sponges, disposable syringes, suture with needle, needle holder, povidone iodine ointment, CSR wrap and prep tray along with all the components in the sets.
