The Tubular shaft MICS instrument by Sorin group is a modified version of the original series with addition of proprietary ceramic coating. The coating is mat-black in color to reduce flash during procedures and inter-operative light reflection. This black coating is also more durable compared to stainless steel alone. The device contains multiple ports throughout the length of the shaft, facilitating optimal post-op hygienic and sterilization and inter-operative flushing.
