Siemens has just named Bernd Montag as the new CEO of its health care business. Montag will replace Hermann Requardt as of February 1.
In other changes announced by the company, Janina Kugel will join the Managing Board and Michael Reitermann will be appointed as a member of the Executive Management. Michael Sen will step in as the Chief Financial Officer of the health care business.
According to Siemens AG, the changes will pave the way for "a generation change at the launch of a new healthcare company" that will be a separate legal entity.
Janina Kugel was previously the Corporate Vice President Human Resources and Siemens' Chief Diversity Officer. She will succeed Siegfried Russwurm as head of Human Resources and will also serve as the Labour Director of Siemens AG.
Gerhard Cromme, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG welcomed Janina Kugel as a new member of the Managing Board: "Her multifaceted, international experience in the human resources field and her broad acceptance by managers and company employees in general provide Ms. Kugel with the optimal qualifications for her new position as head of Human Resources and Labour Director."
Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG communicated that the company is setting up Healthcare as a separately managed business within Siemens. This has been done to drive growth for the future and to be successful in a highly dynamic market and innovation-driven environment. Kaeser also pointed out that globalisation, digitalisation and demographic change have resulted in structural changes in the working world. Professional personnel work and leadership development have been key factors in Seimens' success and will continue to be so with these new changes.
