100th ScanTrainer System Sale for MedaPhor

MedaPhor, the global provider of advanced ultrasound education and training for medical professionals, is pleased to announce that is has sold its 100th ScanTrainer system. The system was installed at Palm Beach State College in Florida, USA.

MedaPhor’s lead product, ScanTrainer, is a virtual reality based ‘real feel’ ultrasound-training simulator that enables trainees, of any level, to literally feel what they see on the computer screen in order to develop the complex mix of cognitive skills and eye-hand movement coordination required to learn all the key ultrasound scanning skills.

The simulator uses real patient scans, within an educationally driven training programme, to teach all the core and advanced skills, but without the need for an ultrasound machine or a patient and with considerably reduced direct supervision by an expert.

MedaPhor recently expanded its ScanTrainer range with its new general medical upper abdomen training simulator, aimed at the large radiology ultrasound training market. It was launched at IMSH, the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare, in San Francisco in January.

Stuart Gall, CEO of MedaPhor and President of MedaPhor North America, Inc. declared this to be another landmark for the company and expressed his delighted at how well the ultrasound simulator was being received in the US. He went on to state that the recent opening of MedaPhor’s US subsidiary, MedaPhor North America, Inc. expanded both the US coverage and range of ScanTrainer training simulators, set to accelerate the company’s growth.
