Esaote continues its path towards an inclusive and sustainable business model in line with the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.

The Strategic Sustainability Plan for the period from 2024 to 2028 has also been drawn up.

Genoa, July 25, 2024 – Esaote S.p.A. – parent company of the Esaote Group, an international leader in the biomedical sector, in ultrasound, dedicated magnetic resonance imaging and information technology for healthcare – has published its second Sustainability Report, a voluntary reporting process confirming its commitment to ESG and the major endeavor of stakeholder involvement.

For Esaote, the 2023 Report aims to continue to represent the results achieved and the actions implemented to operate ethically, reduce environmental impact, and promote social well-being in all matters related to the company's actions in terms of innovation, technology, people, and quality.

Taking as a starting point the commitment made in 2021, when Esaote S.p.A. joined the UN Global Compact, the process of integrating sustainability aspects into the corporate strategy was embarked on; this integration includes the strengthening of sustainability governance by establishing the “Sustainability, Equality and D&I Committee” and by appointing a Chief Sustainability Officer.

The integration is also substantiated by setting out the Strategic Sustainability Plan for the period from 2024 to 2028, which identifies the areas in which the company intends to act. It details the actions to be taken to achieve certain sustainability macro-objectives such as responsible business management, attention to people and respect for the environment.

Indeed, Esaote intends to work on the entire value chain, including by prioritizing the involvement of the Group's employees worldwide, alongside commercial/technological partners and the supply chain to achieve the objectives set out in the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan.

In terms of responsible business management, based on ethical values of fairness, transparency, integrity and honesty, on the one hand the company has implemented programs on security in data management, prevention of tax risks and compliance in the field of antitrust. On the other, it continues to engage in the provision of regular training courses for employees on privacy, cybersecurity, antitrust and anticorruption.

When it comes to attentiveness to people, Esaote considers the guarantee of health and safety in the workplace, the improvement of people's well-being, inclusion, and the promotion of the culture of sustainability central to its work. Following in the same vein is the achievement in December 2023 of UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality Certification, a path undertaken by the Parent Company Esaote S.p.A. and its subsidiary EBIT S.r.l. to further strengthen the processes and policies to oversee the Group's People Strategy, which views inclusion and well-being as goals for constant development over time.

Effective management of the environmental impact of its production processes, including the entire supply chain, is one of the objectives of the actions set out in Esaote's Strategic Plan: emissions are analyzed into Scopes 2 and 3 to define mitigation plans, including circular economy programs for the reuse of packaging and the sale of refurbished machinery (Renaissance project).

Every year since Esaote made its commitment to sustainability in 2021, we have increased our awareness of how essential it is to proceed on the path we have embarked on, by adopting best practices in all our daily actions focusing on innovation, technology, people, and quality, in line with our new slogan of ‘Health with care’,” stated Franco FontanaCEO of Esaote S.p.A. “Our goal is to help create a genuine culture of sustainability for future generations, to be extended to external stakeholders by means of specific initiatives. This is the vision of the current voluntary drafting of the second Sustainability Report, a testament to our Group's long-term strategy in terms of ESG, the future objectives of which are the dissemination of social, economic, ethical, and environmental standards to suppliers and subsidiaries, alongside analysis and audit of the value chain inherent in the supply chain.”
