Fresenius Medical Care (FME), the world’s leading provider of products and services for individuals with renal diseases, has reopened all its dialysis clinics in the regions affected by Hurricane Milton since Monday, October 14, and Hurricane Helene on Tuesday, October 1.
 

Because of our ongoing preparedness efforts, all clinics are back online, with just two locations remaining on generator power, but continuing with uninterrupted services for our patients – and others – who require dialysis treatments. While there may be minor repairs needed to some of our facilities, our centers continue to treat patients without disruption. FME has a disaster response team that coordinates our response and prepares in advance for all natural disasters. In advance of Hurricanes Helene and Milton reaching landfall in the U.S., we mobilized command centers a week in advance to begin the coordination with our local teams, doctors, hospitals, and local authorities. We worked closely with patients to find alternative appointment times where they could receive life-sustaining dialysis treatments before and immediately after the storms. 

As part of our natural disaster recovery process and plans, our teams proactively mobilize and are prepared with fuel, generators, water tankers and other equipment and supplies to ensure patients in affected areas continue receiving necessary dialysis treatments, even during power outages or water disruptions. In addition, FME prepared for and deployed teams in the affected areas immediately after these natural disasters to help our patients, staff and facilities recover from the storm.

FME’s priority in all natural disaster incidents is to ensure the safety of our patients and employees and would like to thank its disaster recovery teams and all employees for their dedication and for taking great care of our patients and of our staff.
