Dear partners and friends,It is with great pride that I take on the role of President of the JFR 2024 which will be held from October 4 to 7, 2024 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris (Porte Maillot) and I understand the immense responsibility that falls on me to carry out this task. It will be a real honor and a real pleasure for me to welcome you there.

All together for the radiology of tomorrow!

The JFR is a multi-professional congress dedicated to all professionals involved in imaging with the aim of being at the service of the patient for optimal care at each stage of their care journey. To highlight each profession involved and the importance of the crucial role of each of them, the theme this year is “All together for the radiology of tomorrow!” »

This will involve, among other things, dealing with new issues in imaging. In this era of rapid change, adaptability and innovation are the keys to success. We need everyone's involvement to improve the quality of care and patient care. Working in collaboration with all professions is essential and constitutes daily enrichment for all of us.

The JFRs highlight the richness of our community, the keystone of an essential and crucial discipline at each stage of a patient's care. Radiologists, researchers, medical electroradiology technicians, institutional partners, industrial partners, start-ups, medical secretaries, etc. are the essential links in this chain.

JFRs in Simulation mode

For the first time at the JFR, simulation will be at the heart of learning to allow everyone to practice technical movements. Within the Interventional Radiology Village, procedural simulation will allow, with the help of our industrial partners, all volunteers to test and try equipment in the form of practical workshops with mannequins and simulators under the watchful eye from an expert who will guide you in your practice. The situation simulation will take place within the Agora JFR, a magnificent space inaugurated for the first time last year, and which will be the scene of scenarios as close as possible to real situations: cardiac arrest on scanner, intolerance to products of iodinated contrast, inform the patient. These scenarios developed in conjunction with SoFraSims (Société Française de Simulation) will involve all health professionals confronted with these events. SoFraSims trainers will observe and debrief in real time with the volunteer participants and the room.

Oncological imaging

Oncological imaging, which will be one of the 2024 focuses, perfectly illustrates this multidisciplinary work in the service of patients and in which the radiologist and medical imaging play a crucial role. To discuss the place of imaging in oncology and the challenges of the coming years, we will have the pleasure and honor of receiving Professor Norbert Ifrah, President of INCa, Professor Fabrice Barlesi, Director General of the Institute Gustave Roussy, and Professor Julien Taïeb, oncologist at HEGP.

Radiology news in all its facets

Other exciting subjects will be discussed such as the emergence of new professions around imaging, the new way of working with artificial intelligence, the diffusion of teleradiology and the crucial place of research in our field.

Numerous debates will be organized around the question: “can the radiologist remain independent?” » allowing us to address the new regulations on contrast products and their consequences on daily practice but also financialization.

Ever more innovative JFRs

A case of the day area (one clinical case per specialty and per day) which will give rise to a competition;

The first JFR Games will be organized with multi-professional teams who will compete in various tests: clinical cases, VRI test on a simulator, technical basic questions, Mario Kart test, etc.

A Junior space for our boarders and our young people so that they can meet in the best conditions. A youth course is also offered to them so that it is more understandable for them and easier to orient themselves in the face of multiple requests.

The inaugural session of JFR 2024, scheduled for Friday October 4 at 5:30 p.m., honoring foreign doctors, will be punctuated with musical interludes performed by “radio artists”: radiologists, manipulators, researchers from all over France including the talents will only command your admiration.

The plenary conference will be given by Agnès Ceccarelli, Professor of sociology at the ICN Business school of Nancy - University of Lorraine, with a theme relating to societal change in the relationship to work and the difficulties of getting different generations to work together. This conference is scheduled for Saturday October 5 at 12:00 p.m. and will be followed by a debate with young representatives from each profession.

We look forward to being able to meet again to train, exchange and debate during these days which have become essential.
