A specialist in artificial intelligence and its applications in medicine, Christian Lovis has been appointed as a member of the Innovation Council of the Federal Innovation Support Agency. Together with the other members of the Board, he will be responsible for reviewing applications for funding and supporting the implementation of the incentives. In addition, it will contribute to the development of Innosuisse's innovation promotion strategies.


Chief Physician of the Department of Medical Information Sciences at HUG and Full Professor in the Department of Radiology and Medical Informatics at the Faculty of Medicine of the , he leads a research team working on interactions between humans and machines in clinical settings. Christian Lovis is one of Switzerland's leading experts in the field of data management, interoperability, semantics and data analytics applied to healthcare and clinical settings. At the national level, he has been involved in various policy initiatives, such as the Federal Act on the Shared Patient Record (LDEP). He chaired the expert group for the development of a national strategy for the transparency of health data in the context of the Health Insurance Act (KVG), is a member of the National Advisory Board of the National Initiative on Personalised Health - - and represented Switzerland at the European Academies Science Advisory Council in the drafting of the position paper on the international transfer of health data.
