The SURESTEP thoracic lumbar sacral orthosis or TLSO device provides stability to the trunk while at the same time allowing slight movement in the usual directions of motion. Rather than completely immobilizing the spine, the Sure Step TSLO enables dynamic movements in the trunk that is essential in preventing muscular atrophy. Thin and flexible plastic allows the trunk to be compresses as needed with complete immobilization. This flexibility also encourages normal breathing patters, while the liners, available in various thicknesses, serve to decrease any risk of soft tissue trauma or skin irritation.
