The INTERGARD Heparin graft is a unique drug/device combination containing biologically active herapin, a natural anticoagulant and antihorombotic agent. The fabric used for these grafts is made from collagen-coated herapin-bonded polyester, and is available in both Knitted and Ultrathin configurations, making them suitable for a wide range of vascular procedures. A proprietary bondng process allows the anti-thrombotic properties of herapin to be available at the surface of the graft. The anti-proliferative properties, which inhibit smooth muscle cell proliferation, are also made available at the surface of the graft, resulting in higher patency rates and lower amputation rates than might otherwise be the case.
