The Lode MRI Ergometer is, as the name implies, a special-purpose ergometer. It is used during MRI studies and is operated by the patient while laying in the scanner. The workload, which is adjustable up to a maximum of 100 watts is controlled by electronic braking technology. The unit is compatible with most Phillips, Siemens, and GE MRI devices. The Lode MRI Ergometer is somewhat unique in that it enables a low level exercise test to be carried out during the course of an MRI examination, thereby allowing objective measurements of cardiac activity or conditioning to be taken. The standard control unit which is supplied with the ergometer allows the different test parameter readings of interest to be recorded and transmitted for later analysis.
