The SHI Group's line of compact cyclotron systems are designed to produce the radioactive isotopes used in tracer RIs, vital to the operation of proton emission tomography (PET) systems. These tracer RIs are used to identify the position of a cancer during the course of a PET scan. SHI cyclotron technology enables these isotopes to be produced in a safe and stable manner. The SHI Group is the only Japanese manufacturer delivering cyclotrons to support PET diagnostics. These cyclotrons are being used in both clinical and research facilities.
