These electrodes are designed for conducting electrophysiological investigation of the brain in epilepsies and tumours, to record spontaneous activities (SEEG – stereoelectroencephalography), and for stimulations (functional mapping, seizure inducement). This approach draws on work carried out by Professors Talairach and Bancaud (Sainte Anne hospital, Paris).
