The cortical electrodes come in grids and strips forms of various shapes. They are positioned on the surface of the cerebral cortex to carry out chronic or acute recordings of normal and pathological cerebral activities (modern technique of the corticographic recordings previously practised by Penfield and Jasper and their students at the Montreal Neurological Institute).
