The IAB Sensation Plus Higher Efficacy Fiber-optic is a technological innovation, improving hemodynamic support by combining the easy-to-use technology of the Maquet IAB fiber optic with the increased effectiveness of larger volume IABs. The new Sensation Plus 7.5 Fr. 40cc IAB fiber optic allows patients from 5'0" to 5'4" (152-162cm) to have access to the benefits that can be gained from counterpulsation therapy. The Sensation Plus comes with two custom designed Statlock IAB Stabilization Device retainers allowing the Maquet IAB catheters to be secured without the use of needles, providing greater comfort and safety for clinicians and patients alike. The Sensation Plus features unique automatic in vivo calibration, allowing the catheter system to calibrate with patient automatically after insertion, and recalibrate in vivo at least every two hours, or sooner should changes indicate it is neccessary. This time-saving feature will result in better consistency and accuracy of the patients arterial blood pressure waveform.
