The EndoCDx® Biopsy increases the tissue area sampled, therefore, increases the yield of patients identified with abnormalities in the esophagus as it acts as an adjunct to standard forceps biopsy of the esophagus. EndoCDx is specifically designed to consistently sample deeper layers of the firmly attached glandular epithelium found on the Barret's esophagus, unlike standard cytology brushes that are typically soft and designed to gently and spontaneously remove exfoliated squamous cells. Analysis of the EndoCDx specimens is aided by a high-speed computer scan to identify potentially abnormal cells, cell clusters, etc. on a high-resolution monitor for trained pathologists to review.
