The simple to operate PiezoWave uses a combination of extracorporeal shock wave therapy with trigger point shock wave therapy to treat chronic pain. This non-surgical method for pain relief in the musculoskeletal system works by focusing extracorporeal shock waves on the affected extra. Gel pads of varying thicknesses are used to allow accurate penetration. A large-area energy coupling with an aperture angle of 94 degrees is also used as an advantageous part of the treatment. This results in a reduced energy density at the skins surface and reduces pain. 20 levels of intensity are available which enables treatment without sedation due to the finely adjusted applications of energy.
