AWS Commits $20mln for COVID-19 Cloud Collaboration

Amazon Web Service (AWS) has launched a $20mln initiative to support collaboration amongst its customers who are working in diagnostic solutions for COVID-19 and future infectious diseases.

The Diagnostic Development Initiative aims to accelerate diagnostic research, innovation, and development to “speed our collective understanding and detection of COVID-19 and other innovate diagnostic solutions to mitigate future infectious disease outbreaks”.

 

A combination of AWS in-kind credits and technical support will make up the funding for customer research teams use the cloud to tackle the COVID-19 challenge.

 

Accredited research institutions and private entities using AWS to support research-oriented workloads for the development of POC diagnostics are also able to participate.
