Top-of-the-line DR system offers Agfa HealthCare's newest  automation and design in a complete and integrated solution

  • Fully automated DR 600 streamlines workflow, increases throughput and enhances the experience of both patients and caregivers.
  • ZeroForce Technology offers smooth operation with almost zero effort in movements.
  • Choice of fixed, tethered and wireless detectors with Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxy-Sulphide (GOS) technology provides excellent image quality, while CsI also delivers potential for dose reduction1.
  • Full Leg Full Spine option with EasyStich technology

(RSNA 2015, Booth #1315, South Hall)  Agfa HealthCare announces that it will introduce the new DR 600* multi-detector, high-productivity, high-throughput direct radiography (DR) solution at RSNA 2015, being held from November 29-December 4 in Chicago, Illinois (USA). With innovative features and ZeroForce Technology, the DR 600 offers excellent speed, precision and comfort.  The system shows particular strength in full leg/full spine (FLFS) imaging with it's EasyStitch technology.

Enhanced workflow and throughput

Fully automated, the DR 600 streamlines workflow, increases throughput and enhances the experience of patients and operators alike, even in the busiest imaging environments. Full automation, auto-positioning and auto-tracking allow light, fast and easy operation.

The ZeroForce Technology enables manual movement of the tube head in all directions quickly and with almost zero effort. The MUSICA workflow provides immediate previews that reduce time between exposures and thus deliver a higher rate of throughput. The result is a lower cost per exam and faster patient throughput.

Scalable design and robust components

The DR 600 includes an innovative tube head design with a touch screen control panel featuring a preview image and an integrated soft console on the MUSICA viewing station. Built with solid, factory-quality hardware manufactured at Agfa HealthCare's award-winning factory in Peissenberg, Germany, the DR 600 offers a broad range of customizable options.

The direct image capture capabilities and versatile panel formats allow many different configurations. Each hospital can design the room it needs and migrate to direct radiography seamlessly - whether immediately implementing a full DR solution, or a cassette-based computed radiography (CR) solution that can then evolve to cassette-less DR when the hospital is ready.

Precision MUSICA image processing

The DR 600 comes with Agfa HealthCare's MUSICA gold standard image processing software - the latest intelligent and automated digital radiography image processing software for consistently reliable, high-quality image visualization. Exam independent, MUSICA automatically analyzes the characteristics of each image and optimizes processing parameters - independent of user input and dose deviations. As a result, minimal re- or post-processing is required.

Dose management and potential reduction

The DR 600 comes with a choice of fixed, tethered or wireless detectors, with Cesium Iodide (CsI) or Gadolinium Oxy-Sulphide (GOS) technology. The excellent image quality of the Cesium Iodide offers the potential for significant patient dose reduction[1], with faster availability of images that speeds up workflow and reduces patient waiting times.

With leading-edge Automatic Exposure Control offering high-speed accuracy and collimators with a Dose Area Product meter, the DR 600 can optimize and automatically report doses. Short exposures offered by new dose sensing technology keep dose measurement accurate to the millisecond.

DR Full Leg Full Spine option with EasyStitch technology

The fully motorized wall bucky has vertical tracking with the tube, offering the option of DR Full Leg Full Spine (FLFS) with EasyStitch technology. Based on fully automated single focus technology, EasyStitch minimizes distortions. Angular tracking is available for dedicated exams, while motorized movement of the wall stand and tube head provides accurate stitching capabilities, for high precision in images. An optional table overlay allows you to perform FLFS right on the table.

Speed, precision and comfort

"The DR 600 is designed to offer hospitals the speed, precision and comfort they need for their high-throughput imaging environments," comments Louis Kuitenbrouwer, Vice President Imaging Division, Agfa HealthCare. "It brings together top-of-the-line features and components in a complete and integrated solution that provides high quality images, while maximizing productivity, versatility and ease of use. With the DR 600, everything comes together to produce images, quickly and efficiently,  designed for comfort and ease of use for patient and operator alike."

*note: FDA clearance of the DR 600 is pending

Find out more about the DR 600 by visiting us at RSNA: booth # 1315, South Hall, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, USA, November 29-December 4.

[1] Testing with board-certified radiologists has determined that Cesium Bromide (CR) and Cesium Iodide (DR) Detectors, when used with MUSICA image processing, can provide dose reductions of 50 to 60%, compared to traditional Barium Fluoro Bromide CR systems.
