Together in a "one platform/one display" solution, they allow workflow gains and easy access to productivity tools

  • Enterprise Imaging unified, sophisticated imaging platform includes PACS, reporting, advanced image processing and integration of clinical information.
  •  Barco's elegant, universal Coronis Uniti diagnostic display improves clinician productivity through enhanced ergonomics and workflow improvements.
  •  Preprogramed shortcuts and special functions in Coronis Uniti display system allow easy access to Enterprise Imaging productivity tools, in a clean, efficient desktop.

(RSNA 2015, Booth #1315, South Hall)  Agfa HealthCare announces that it will highlight the advantages of delivering its Enterprise Imaging platform with Barco's Coronis Uniti display solution at RSNA 2015. The two solutions have been delivered together since the beginning of 2015, and have proven very successful in the field worldwide.

Single point of access and viewing

Agfa HealthCare's Enterprise Imaging platform offers a care-centric workflow that is standards-based, improves interoperability and enables a comprehensive patient health record across departments within a single facility or between multiple facilities. This unified imaging platform includes PACS, reporting, advanced image processing and integration of clinical information, all in one sophisticated platform. It offers clinicians a single point of access to patient information from different sources, allowing them to quickly access a patient's complete file, generate a report and distribute it, all during one session, even from a remote location.

The Coronis Uniti diagnostic display solution has been clinically validated for both PACS (picture archiving and communication system) and multi-modality breast imaging including breast tomosynthesis, 3D mammography, breast MRI and breast ultrasound. By combining PACS and breast images together - in grayscale and color, in 2D and 3D, static or dynamic - on one single, ultra-bright display, Coronis Uniti offers a truly unified workflow, raising productivity to new levels, and enhancing confident diagnosis.

Combining the Enterprise Imaging platform with the Coronis Uniti allows hospitals to benefit from significant productivity improvement with the enhanced workflow.

The unified, high productivity desktop

Coronis Uniti unifies the clinician's and radiologist's desktop, bringing together all patient images on a single screen to facilitate the diagnostic process. Based on feedback from the Institut für Diagnostische und Interventionelle Radiologie of the Caritas Klinikum Saarbrucken, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Dirk Pickuth, special functions and shortcuts to Enterprise Imaging productivity tools have been preprogrammed into a mouse device.

The Coronis Uniti display also changes the way clinicians view and read images. The display size and 3:2 aspect ratio enable clinicians to read entire studies and multiple exams with virtually no extraneous head/eye movement, for greater comfort and longer visual acuity.

Dr. Geert Souverijns, Chief Radiologist of Jessa Ziekenhuis in Hasselt, Belgium, has been using the new monitor since May 2015: "The monitor is truly multifunctional: it can be used for classic radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound and mammography. It supports grayscale, color and fusion imaging. This was the main criterion we used in selecting it."

He continues, "Our users already appreciate the very high brightness and the additional mammography function for boosting luminance in a region of interest, as well as the touchpad that makes activating functions fast. And the Fusion form factor allows uninterrupted side-by-side comparison of multiple images; with the Enterprise Imaging for Radiology solution we can view various combinations of images on a single large screen."

The ultimate goal: better delivery of patient care

"Clinicians should try to have as many functions in a single workstation as possible, and we strive to make that possible," says Filip Pintelon, Senior Vice President and General Manager for HealthCare at Barco. "Working with Agfa HealthCare allows both of our companies to go further in achieving our goals, and helping hospitals to achieve theirs."

"Barco is as committed as we are to developing innovations that enhance the workflow of healthcare providers, and help them to constantly improve their delivery of patient care," says Willy Rosé, Head of Marketing IT Europe of Agfa HealthCare. "By bringing our two solutions - the Enterprise Imaging platform and the Coronis Uniti display - together, each strengthens the other, allowing greater advantages and more features."
