Sectra has signed ten-year contracts with two Dutch hospitals, Albert Schweitzer Hospital, Dordrecht, and Catharina Hospital, Eindhoven. Sectra’s solution enhances the efficiency of each step of the care process, from when a physician refers a patient for a radiology examination to when radiology images and responses to referrals are returned.

“More and more hospitals in the Netherlands are choosing Sectra as their provider of IT solutions and our customer base now comprises 18 hospitals. Like the Albert Schweitzer Hospital and Catharina Hospital, many of our customers choose to extend the use of Sectra’s medical imaging IT solutions to also handle patient information (RIS),” says Marie Ekström, Head of Sectra’s radiology IT business.

The orders include upgrades of the customers’ existing systems for managing digital radiology images (PACS) as well as service and support. The hospitals will also implement Sectra’s system for efficient handling of patient information (RIS).

In the UK, The Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) in London has awarded Sectra a five year contract to supply a breast imaging PACS. The solution will facilitate fast and highly efficient reading of screening mammograms which will improve the breast screening service to the 72,000 women examined each year.
