EM Now: Knowledge, Action, Accountability

Emergency Medicine is a vibrant, dynamic and diverse sphere. At ICEM2016 we will be celebrating the current practice of emergency medicine and the global development of the specialty.

Knowledge is at the forefront in the sessions on the updates on the Resuscitation Guidelines, the wealth of knowledge shared by experts from around the world and the pre-and in-conference workshops on ECG interpretation, resilience, management and leadership.

Action is represented in individual EM practice by the practical workshops on ultrasound, teaching and emergency paediatric management. Collective action is explored in the sessions on regional EM development, disaster response and public health and injury prevention.

We are challenging all Emergency Care providers and organisations to be accountable in their practice. The WHO Emergency Care Systems Toolkit will be presented at the conference, we will create formal opportunities to engage with the IFEM Executive, and throughout the conference we will be highlighting the wonder of nature through our animal mascots. Our Social Village will allow participants to learn and engage with not-for-profit organisations focusing on child health and EM development but also on community education, social welfare and conservation.
