Meet the Team: Christian Marolt, Executive Director
What are your key areas of interest and research?
Driving healthcare efficiency, best practice and leadership. Healthcare offers, despite many improvements of the last decades, still a vast possibility of delivering better care for lesser input. The lasting developments of a more inclusive understanding of personal health, from avoiding illness in the first place, to early detection, correct and fast intervention up to professional follow-up is well underway, but needs implementation and a constant re-evaluation. I am grateful that with HealthManagement.org we are at the forefront to drive such processes forward.
What are the major challenges in your field?
They are right in line with my interests: leadership challenges, setting up common standards, honest reporting of errors and their avoidance and IT Security. Basically to use available resources in an optimised way as there is sufficient money in the healthcare system available.
What is your top management tip?
Don’t speed too fast as you might miss the crucial turn.
What would you single out as a career highlight?
My latest appointment as Executive Director of HealthManagement; this will allow me to further drive quality and excellence in healthcare.
If you had not chosen this career path you would have become a…?
What are your personal interests outside of work?
First in line my wife and kids. But if time allows skiing, Firngleiten, flying planes, filming and photography.
