Call for Tender on Prevention Strategies for Type 2 Diabetes
The action will focus on developing prevention strategies for schoolchildren (teenagers, 12–14 years) at risk of type 2 diabetes.

The first phase should include the development of systematic approaches for an effective identification of children at risk for developing type 2 diabetes including the early diagnosis with established methodology, preferably with non-invasive tests.

The second phase should consist of the development and evaluation of action programmes for diabetes prevention of 12–14 year old children at risk with specific emphasis on the importance of physical activity and nutritional education.
The most successful strategies should be disseminated for implementation in schools across Europe.

The deadline for submission is the 19th of July 2013
