Course Description

The program is planned to meet the needs of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and all healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients with cardiovascular disease in the primary care setting.


Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:


  • identify strategies to prevent cardiac disease, including management of hypertension, dyslipidemia, and optimizing diet

  • determine indications for intervention in patients with valvular heart disease

  • assess patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HfpEF)

  • identify contemporary indications for pacing and cardiac resyncrhonization therapy (CRT)

  • manage patients with inflammatory pericarditis

  • apply the use of point of care ultrasound in cardiac patients.
