Course Description

The 23rd Annual State-of-the-Art Echo Course has been developed by Mayo Clinic in Collaboration with Columbia Medical Center to provide the most recent as well as traditionally established guidelines for evaluation of cardiac structure, function, and hemodynamics which are essential for patient management and cardiac clinical trials. This course will familiarize attendees with recent technological advances in the field.


Course Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply the Echocardiography and Imaging Guidelines for obtaining optimal data and applying to cardiovascular diseases

  • Interpret intracardiac and valvular hemodynamics from Doppler echocardiography tracings

  • Review the role of imaging and the current status in surgical and transcatheter valve/device interventions

  • Recognize echocardiographic and multi-modality imaging presentations of rare as well as common, but complex cardiovascular conditions

Intended Audience

The course is intended for anesthesiologists, cardiologists, ED physicians, critical care physicians, fellows, sonographers, and medical professionals who are interested in a comprehensive review of echocardiography and an introduction to the newest advances in the field.
