MGS Research, Inc. is dedicated to inventing, developing, and commercializing new products and services in the area of three-dimensional radiation dosimetry for therapeutic and diagnostic radiology. Our company was founded in 1992 by Marek J. Maryanski, Ph.D., John C. Gore, Ph.D., and Robert J. Schulz, Ph.D., all Yale - based co-inventors of the polymer gel dosimetry technique, which was patented in 1994 (US Patent 5,321,357). The patent was assigned to Yale University. In 1995, MGS Research became the exclusive licensee of Yale's patented invention of polymer gel dosimetry. In 1997, BANG gel dosimeters received FDA 510k approval for clinical use with either MRI or optical CT scanning. In 1998, the BANG trademark was registered by the USPTO.In 2001, the US patent (US Pat. 6,218,673) for the method of 3D radiation dosimetry by optical CT scanning of 3D dosimeters, co-invented by Drs Gore, Maryanski and Schulz, was granted by the USPTO and was assigned to Yale University. In 2003, MGS Research became the exclusive licensee of Yale's patented invention of 3D radiation dosimetry using optical CT of 3D dosimeters.
