Medcare went through a transition with an ownership change in 1998 when Jennifer & Brooks Smith purchased the company. The Smiths' vision of product improvement and market penetration to grow Medcare Products continued to be a reality as engineering changes and manufacturing improvements were identified and implemented. Sales continued to grow, meeting customer demands and providing service that set Medcare Products apart from other small lift companies in the U.S. In 2008, Medcare started its own product development on a ceiling lift solution. This product line was released in 2009. It expanded Medcare's lift product line and opened new segments in the acute care market. Today, Medcare has a complete product offering of floor lifts, ceiling lifts, car extractors, slings and transfer aids for the U.S. market. This allows Medcare to meet all the product demands of new and existing customers requiring safe patient handling equipment. Medcare Products designs and manufactures all of its products in the U.S.A. This gives Medcare an advantage and allows us to offer a 24-hour parts response; localizing service, support and training to its customer base.
