EuSoMII AMI2019: Radiology AI and Clinical Applications

This year’s Annual Meeting for the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII), 18-19 Oct 2019, shines a spotlight on advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and its clinical applications.

 

 

Hosted in the city of Valencia, Spain, AMI2019 is due to expand on the innovative discussions which took place last year in Rotterdam. Consisting of a mix of both scientific and educational sessions, delegates can look forward to exploring the latest advances in the field.

 

Over the mornings of both days, the programme gives attendees the chance to join talks dedicated to Imaging Informatics. There is also the possibility to participate in an examination after the last of these sessions to cement findings and gain certification. As well as this, the annual meeting this year offers 14 European CME credits (ECMEC®) with credits from EVES (SPAIN) available as well.

 

At AMI2019 this year, Medical Imaging Department Chief of La Fe Hospital, Prof. Dr. Luis Marti-Bonmati, is due to give a keynote discussion on imaging biomarkers and radiomics. Another keynote speech is also set to be given by Tim Leiner of UMC Utrecht on bringing AI into the clinic, presented with case studies.

 

Raymond Geis will also be attending the meeting this year as he presents the main topics from the Joint Paper of EuSoMII, ESR, SIIM, AAPM, ACR, CAR and RSNA. Geis’ presentation marks the premiere of these main topics which aim to explore the latest strategies for AI ethics in the field of radiology.

 

Presenting the AI developments from both a clinical and engineering perspective, delegates can also look forward to two joint sessions from the neuroradiology and musculoskeletal subspecialties of ESNR and ESSR, respectively.
