Elena Gabriel, a senior nurse with a rich background in HR management, nursing education, healthcare administration, and change management, has embarked on a new journey as a visiting lecturer at the prestigious University of Nicosia.

 

Gabriel brings over a decade of experience, having served as a senior nurse officer at the Ministry of Health in Cyprus since January 2013. Her role involved pivotal responsibilities within the Nursing Department's administration, including membership in significant committees such as the COVID-19 Vaccinations Coordinate Team and the National Advising Committee for Vaccinations.

 

Her contributions extend beyond administrative duties; Gabriel played a vital role in piloting initiatives for the capacity planning of the Ministry of Health, coordinating efforts towards the autonomy of public hospitals, and implementing the New Health System in Cyprus. Notably, she served as the Coordinator of Nursing Education for all public hospitals until 2018.

 

Armed with a Doctor of Philosophy focused on Hospital Organisational Culture and Effectiveness from Cyprus University of Technology, Gabriel possesses a diverse skill set encompassing curriculum development, presentation prowess, interpersonal finesse, and proficient management and leadership abilities. Her expertise also extends to utilising tools such as Microsoft Excel and HR management.
