Cleveland Clinic London has earned Stage 6 validation on the HIMSS EMRAM Maturity Model, becoming the first private hospital in the UK to receive this achievement and one of eight hospitals in the UK to Stage 6 and above.
EMRAM, the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model, measures clinical outcomes, patient engagement and clinician use of EMR technology to strengthen organizational performance and health outcomes across patient populations. EMRAM scores hospitals around the world relative to their digital maturity, providing a detailed road map to ease adoption and begin digital transformation.
To be validated against the EMRAM Stage 6 standards, the hospital had to demonstrate a significant level of digitalization and integration of EMR into operations, leading to improved patient care, efficiency, data utilization and other benefits that contribute to the overall quality of services provided.

Cleveland Clinic London’s review noted that leaders are visible and impactful. It has a culture with a strong commitment to improving quality of care and patient safety, and caregivers take ownership and are proud of all that has been achieved.

HIMSS also praised Cleveland Clinic London as being one of the most forward-thinking hospital pharmacy departments in the UK. Cleveland Clinic London was the first private hospital to use a pharmacy barcoding/closed loop medication administration and the unit-dose pharmacy robot that individually wraps and tracks medication by bar code to the patient’s bedside.

Cleveland Clinic London Stage 6 accreditation for EMRAM will be valid for three years.
Cleveland Clinic London is the latest location in Cleveland Clinic’s expanding global footprint, allowing Cleveland Clinic to extend its model of care to more patients than ever.
Cleveland Clinic London hospital opened on March 29, 2022. It has 184 inpatient beds, including 29 ICU beds; eight operating rooms; a full imaging suite; endoscopy and cardiac catheterization laboratories; day case rooms for surgery; and a full neurological suite with rehabilitation.
In addition to comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic services, it offers orthopedics, digestive diseases, urology, neurosciences, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, general practice and executive health. Cleveland Clinic London consists of a hospital and an outpatient center.
