Augmented Reality means the continuous display of planning structures on top of the live endoscopic image during navigation. Planned elements and structures are shown in correct position and perspective in order to allow an optimal implementation of surgical planning. Planning can also be extended intraoperatively, for example for documentation purposes. Augmented Reality can be activated at any time by attaching the endoscope tracker, even during surgery. Augmented Reality allows a continuous recording of navigation and endoscopic videos in the DiVAS medical image documentation system.
