Varian is combined with the Acuity BrachyTherapy Suite to support image guide brachytherapy (IGBT). This integrated IGBT solution enables imaging, which includes flat panel planar digital images and cone beam CT imaging, to help guide the placement of applicators and create the treatment plan. This is achieved due to the superior combination of Varian's Acuity treatment planning, simulation and verification system with an HDR afterloader, all in the same procedure room. The combination of Varian with the Acuity BrachyTherapy Suite means that patients can receive treatment without being moved between the imaging, applicator placement and treatment delivery steps.
