The Philadelphia cervical orthosis is used for cervical root irritation, simple and stable vertebral fractures, Halo-Body jacket, and post-operative after luxations / luxation fractures. The ventral and dorsal reinforcement allows it to provide a large stabilising effect. It ensures immobilisation of the cervical spine at the same time. The orthosis consists of Plastazote and is therefore distinguished by its low weight. Ventilation holes make a further contribution to wearer comfort, allowing for improved air circulation and preventing heat buildup. The larynx area has a trachea opening which allows for feeling of the carotid pulse and for an easy tracheostomy. Further advantages include easy cleaning and a hook-and-loop strap for easy size adjustment. Donning and doffing is easy since it is made from two half-shells.
