The ASTOCOVER can be used in pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative situations, in intensive care or on the ward, as prophylaxis against the patient cooling down and as a treatment for hypothermia. With ASTOCOVER it is prevented that warmth is radiated from the patient into the area and it comes thus to no unnecessary calorific loss of the patient. Hence the patient is protected against cooling down caused by operation theatre ventilation and draught. In combination with our warming systems such as ASTOPAD SYSTEM ( Patient Warmer), ASTOFLO and ASTOTHERM PLUS (Blood and Infusion Warmers) a complete conception is realized to prevent the patient from the negative side effects of an operation such as hypothermia and decubitus.
