The Starled1 Evo examination lamp uses a groundbreaking illumination cold light LED system that provides superior lighting using a light beam that has no infrared rays and so no heat. There are no changes in the temperature on the surgeons head or surgical field. The white light provides superior light quality with a color temperature of 4.900 °K as sunlight and a color rendering index (CRI) of 95. Unlike standard lighting where the lighting immediately loses efficiency, with the LED light efficiency loss is linear and the performance decay is minimal throughout the life of the light. Because LEDs are semiconductors, they have a life expectancy that on average is significantly longer than a conventional bulb and the energy consumption is minimal.
