The neoBLUE system is used of successful treatment of newborn jaundice with the help of optimal blue LED technology. The device most effectively degrades the jaundice causing bilirubin1 and meets AAP Guidelines for intensive phototherapy2. Blue LEDs emits a large range of 450-470 nm spectrum which corresponds to the peak absorption wavelength (458 nm) for breaking down of bilirubin. The LEDs are arranged in diffuser panel to cover maximum area and provide illumination to the full surface body area of the baby. The device is safe as the NeoBLUE LEDs prevent emission of ultraviolet (UV) range and infrared radiation (IR) range thus reducing potential risk against skin damage and loss of fluid.
