There are three methods of background illumination for HS Slit Lamps, and one of these is the conventional Cold Light Source. The Cold Light Source consists of a pivoting mirror, a fiber optic cable of varying lengths, a holder for the fiber optic cable and background illumination for the units. The pivoting mirror moves independently of the slit lamp illumination. For use with the HSM 901 tables, the cold light source is available as a drawer. For third party tables, units and stands, however, it is supplied with a mounting bracket. The fiber optic cable is mounted underneath the mirror with the BD 900.
