Our cardiovascular perioperative autotransfusion device - CardioPAT ® is a completely automated machine, which collects, cleans and returns the patients’ blood both during and after the cardiac surgery. This avoids needless allogeneic transfusions and other risks of infections. The cardio PAT system ensures that the patients get their own blood by consistently providing fresh RBCs with high hematocrit. This reduces the chances of infection. The tasks like processing autologous blood, collection of blood into the reinfusion container, separation of cell debris, plasma and other undesirable contaminants are performed automatically. Moreover, the device is portable with vacuum pump and integrated battery, which supports the patients all through the continuum of care.
