CAREPORTAL is a multi-media, Android based Tablet designed to address the wider requirements of the ageing population. When loaded with our Android software docoboAPP it becomes a fully capable telehealth monitor that enables recording of daily clinical, life style and quality of life data as well as delivery of appropriate condition-specific information to educate patients and assist them to manage their conditions more effectively. With ageing comes social isolation caused by fragmented families and the digital divide, often accompanied by dementia and reducing ability to perform activities of daily living. With a larger colour touchscreen, web camera, new interfaces including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB, and Bluetooth, along with Phone line (0800 Freephone), GPRS (preferred) or 3G connectivity, this device offers users a rich set of options for communication (two way free text and video messages), education, and health management, addressing both health and social needs. The CAREPORTAL can also be used for a range of social isolation and independent living applications, and for any Android application, so can easily be deployed for other uses if not required for health only. It measures vital signs and records symptomatic, quality of life, life style information and medication concordance, which includes standard lead I ECG (No leads/wires required – patient simply holds the unit in their hands), bio-impedance measurements and other physiological signals which are optionally available.
