Addition of an innovative third element makes the Emotis Element Foot to be differentiated from two spring prosthetic foot structures. The three phases of foot function in the gait cycle, that is, from heel strike, to mid-stance, to toe off are supported by the exclusive design of the product. As a consequence, a foot having unmatched gentleness, performance, and stability all along the gait cycle has been incorporated. The transition from heel to toe, results in a hesitation, by the other composite foot designs at midstance. This transition is usually known as a dead spot. This dead spot can also occur in other designs because of the loss of dynamic support in loading forward either one, or a series of stiff carbon plates from the ankle. By permitting the upper spring to load a third element carbon spring at midstance (a region of poor response), the dead spot is removed by the patent pending structure of the equipment. Releasing and loading of energy is carried out by the 3rd Element forefoot spring.
