The DC-STIMULATOR is a CE-certified medical device used to conduct non-invasive transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on people. The device is designed incompliance to highest safety standards through its (hardware- and software-based) multistage monitoring of the current path. electrode impendence is continuously monitored enabling detection of insufficient contact with the skin and terminate stimulation automatically. The device offers 1 channel, unipolar (DC) stimulation, a reliable and free from injury process. The current is adjustable with a maximum strength of 5,000 µA (Sinus, peak-to-peak) and the time of application can be adjusted up to 30 minutes. Current frequency is adjustable up to 20 Hz. The device can be operated in 3 modes tDCS (continuous stimulation), pulse (cyclical stimulation activation/deactivation) and sinus warning tone for indication of any problems during stimulation. More than 2,000 µA of current exceeding 20 minutes of application is to be used for research process only.
