The Bariatric Training Suit enables staff working with bariatric patients to feel for themselves the problems of mobility and routine activity experienced as a norm by their patients. It can also be used as a training aid when using equipment such as hoists as the difficulties faced in these situations are primarily those of bulk, with the hoist taking the weight.
The suit, which consists of body and leg sections, only adds 6.5kg to the natural weight of the individual but simulates the bulk of a bariatric patient.
