The Background Illumination System is very useful in situations where images of the slit beam in the anterior segment of the eye need to be shown very clearly so that patients can understand their diagnosis. BG-02 shares its lightsource with the slitlamp and thus the brightness and colour temperature always change in accordance to the slit beam. Because of this, there is never need to worry about the light-intensity balance or colour temperature differences between the slit beam and the background illumination.
