The latest research on Neonatal Intensive Care aims to use nasal ventilation to minimize or avoid endotracheal intubation. The challenge of Ginevris team was to enhance the nCPAP ventilatory support by combining it with ventilator, breaths synchronized with the infants respiratory cycle. Giulias advanced technology and its unique flow transducer allow it to treat babies with nCPAP, nSIPPV and nSIMV, thus improving the pulmonary mechanics. The system requires a minimum inspiratory effort to be activated. This activation follows the rapid increase of flow at the beginning of the inspiration. The nCPAP can be delivered by Giulia to facilitate gradual weaning.
